The Press Information Bureau (PIB) is the nodal agency of the Government of India under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, serving as the primary interface to disseminate official information on government policies, programmes, initiatives, and achievements to print, electronic, and digital media.
Headquartered in New Delhi with eight regional offices and 34 branch offices nationwide, it releases press notes, features, photos, videos, infographics, and multilingual content in English, Hindi, Urdu, and other Indian languages to reach over 8,000 media outlets.
PIB also organizes press conferences, briefings, tours to project sites, and provides feedback to the government on public reactions reflected in media, while facilitating media accreditation for about 2,500 journalists.
